Portraits|The Renfrews

Going to school four hours away from home can be difficult for all kinds of reasons. Months between eating my mom’s cooking. Never getting to cuddle with my cat. Missing out on my dad’s lame jokes (he apparently just learned “Guess what, chicken butt.” Hilarity ensues?) But when I’m at school, the biggest hole in my heart is in the shape of my sisters. Sure, we talk on the phone every so often and leave random messages on each other’s Facebook walls, but these things can hardly compete with good, quality sister time. I miss out on nights of dinner dates at Christine’s new house or Fatty Sister Nights eating ice cream and watching movies in Sarah’s room.

But as luck would have it, I’ve been blessed with townie roommates here at school whose siblings and families live only minutes down the road. And though they could never replace my own family, seeing my roommates interact with their brothers and sisters gives me a good dose of sibling rivalr—I mean sibling love whenever I need it. Which is why I was so excited to get the chance to photograph my roommate Ashley and her brothers, Ben and Cameron. These siblings are so fun to hang out with. They’re not your normal fight-all-day family. They actually get along (most of the time) and they actually love each other! It is so cool to see these three, the youngest of five Renfrew children, hang out together as Ashley’s creativity, Ben’s poise and Cameron’s charm melt into one big pot of sibling love. I asked the boys what they like to do most when Ashley is home, they answered: snuggle. Precious.

It was COLD out when we took these, so props to the littlest ‘Frews for being such champs in the snow! Enjoy!

Shortly after the snuggling came the fighting.

Such a man!

They kiss and make up pretty quick : )

The REAL youngest Renfrew, Maddie, came to play!

It was FREEZING out so we went inside to snuggle up and get warm!

Perfect family portrait, I think…

Life with Kaishon - What a sweet, sweet family! I just saw your comment at Jasmine Star’s blog about being a Penn State girl and I had to come over and say hi! I have never met a Penn State girl that wasn’t fantastic! I wish you could be their third shooter as well! I know what you mean about being a poor college girl though : )ReplyCancel
