Can you say Chi-city?

A sad confession: I’ve barely been off of the east coast. Until this past week, the westernmost point I could claim to have visited was Ann Arbor, Michigan. But really, I don’t even think Ann Arbor reaches farther west than the panhandle of Florida, which makes me an awfully sheltered lover of travel.

This week though, I inched myself just a little closer to the Mississippi and delved further into the Midwest when I visited Chicago! (Baby steps, folks.) I had been looking forward to the visit ever since December when I found out I was accepted for a short intern position with Nashville photographer Sarah Barlow, and the week did not disappoint. It was a whirlwind internship of business, branding, blogging, coffee, and, at the end of the week, second shooting a 12-hour wedding. My feet were killing, but I learned so much in just a couple of days and I can wait to share it all! Big dreams and big plans for Stephanie Dee.

All of the Chicago excitement comes before an equally exciting though much less exotic (Just listen to me calling Chicago exotic. So sad.) month spent in southwestern Pennsylvania as a counselor at Summer’s Best Two Weeks, a Christian sports camp on the most gorgeous lake in rolling Pennsylvania hills. Its an amazing place where God does big things and I can’t wait to see what He does there this summer. Limited internet and cell use means blog will me sparse for a while, but let’s be real, thats not too big of a change.

For now, enjoy some iPhone-documented Chicago pictures. (And can I get a hallelujah for freedom from flip phones?!)

The feeling of driving into a big city will always be one of my favorites. It was pouring when we went into Chicago so there sadly wasn’t too much exploring.

I would fly all day every day if I could.

Tomorrow I’ll share a few pictures from a shoot with my lovely and gorgeous fellow intern Megs Colleen before I leave for camp, so get excited!
