It was the beginning of the semester and Avery asked me if I could pray with her. There was this guy who she’d known forever and who was interested in her, but she just didn’t feel the same way and she was about to make the call telling him so. So we sat and prayed that Avery would know the right words to say, that she would have the strength to say them, and that ultimately, she would be obedient to the Lord’s plan. Well, God certainly had that last part under control.
Avery did make that call and she didn’t start a relationship with that boy. Just then. But Wade didn’t give up that easily. He kept pursuing her and it didn’t take many months for Avery to recognize that she really did have feelings for him too. After they started dating, it didn’t take too much longer for them to know that they both wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, and Wade sealed the deal with a (absolutely gorgeous) ring.
This past weekend, I was so excited to get to reconnect with Avery and get to spend some time with her and Wade for their engagement session! The two were only visiting State College for the weekend, and in true Central Pennsylvania fashion, the forecast wasn’t looking great. But we had fun exploring the Millbrook Marsh through the mud and a little rain, and managed to finagle an hour or two of some BEAUTIFUL light out of an otherwise pretty dreary day. (To be honest, photographers shouldn’t ever mind an overcast sky. It’s God’s gift of a gigantic softbox!) Avery and Wade, I hope you two enjoy these! I had such a fun time and I cannot wait for June 2!!
Avery tried to tell me that she and Wade were both awful smilers (wrong), and that Wade’s best look was a scowl. I prefer the term “model face” and uh, hey… I think they nailed it.
Seriously though, look at this ring!
You guyssss Avery, please don’t be mad about the frizz in this next one, it is definitely one of my favorites! Favorite!
If you guys liked this shoot, leave Avery and Wade some love with a comment!!
