The DiRico Sisters | Valley Forge Anytime Portraits

They’re not a normal family. “Meredith” and “Rachel” are replaced by nicknames like “Boowa” and “Fafa,” and not just when they’re around each other. While most children have to beg their parents for years just to have them consider adding a dog to the family, when the DiRico’s first got their dog, Lola, she didn’t have many friends in her human siblings. “Fristers” are a part of their family, and they plan family 5k races that start and end at their own driveway. Nope, the DiRico’s are definitely not a normal family.

But spend some time with them all together and just try not to fall in love with their endearing family antics. Sure, there is some bickering and plenty of SASS to go around (DiRico Sassiness is a big part of the reason why I love this family so much), but these girls love their family to their cores, and when everyone who enters their home is automatically treated as family, it’s hard to leave time spent with the DiRico’s without feeling like a “Frister” (friend-sister) yourself.

And so much of the love that drives their family is due to the model that their parents have provided for them. Which is why when Erica asked me a few months ago about doing a SURPRISE portrait session for their parent’s anniversary (can you tell that I LOVE surprises, yet?), I was so on board! An entire morning spent joining in DiRico Sass? Yes, please! We spent a morning in June wandering around Valley Forge National Park, soaking up some beautiful morning light, laughing at model faces (OK, mostly just Kristi’s model face) and probably worrying Mr. and Mrs. DiRico to death wondering where all of their children had gone! Ever since I’ve been so excited to share these with you, so enjoy some of my favorites!

Rachel and Kristi, also known as “The Little Girls.” They’re awesome!  WORK it Boowa! (See, it’s inevitable to join in the nicknames.) Love this one! Proof that Kristi (on the right) is the sassiest. It’s been said before that Lola the Dog is Mr. DiRico’s favorite daughter, so we couldn’t have a complete family portrait without her! Definite favorite. You girls are so gorgeous! My favorite kind of family: a Penn State family! Erica and Lola have had a strained relationship in the past… …But they’ve worked out their differences! ;) Enjoy this shoot? Have a favorite? Leave some love for the DiRico’s and Lola below! Don’t forget to like Stephanie Dee Photography on Facebook for updates on new posts!

And of course, happy anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. DiRico! Hope you enjoy!
