Alright, alright… I know this is a super late-in-the-day post. But I’ll make it up to you by saying that it’s also a super exciting post!
If you’ve ready pretty much any other posts on my blog, you already know how blessed I feel to have had the most amazing clients and friends this summer. They have trusted me on one of the most meaningful days of their lives to capture the important traditions, the long thought-out details, and the beautiful moments that unfold during the day—their day. They’ve allowed me to do what I love and to start my own business! Ask me five years ago what I thought I’d be doing after I graduated and “business owner” are two words that would not have passed my lips. They’ve allowed me to dream big. And pushed me to dream bigger.
Since I knew that I wanted to pursue my passion in photography, I knew that one of my Big Goals was to be published. I’d oogle at blogs like Green Wedding Shoes and Style Me Pretty not because I was planning a wedding, but because I wanted to soak in all that beautiful photography. It’ll be me, one day, I thought.
Avery reached out to me a few weeks after her wedding, and sincerely told me how much her photos meant to her, and that she earnestly thought I should consider submitting them to be published; specifically on Green Wedding Shoes, her (and my!) favorite wedding blog. I stared at the message with wide eyes, baffled. I was so honored that Avery enjoyed her photos, but that much? Avery’s was the first wedding I photographed on my own, not as a second shooter. I am proud of the work I did that day, and was so full of love as I sent those images to Avery, but I also learned a LOT that day. Yet, here was my friend, urging me to dream a little bigger…
So I did. And though the day wasn’t a fit for GWS, I was elated to find out that the wonderful ladies over at Love and Lavender were going to feature Avery and Wade’s gorgeous day full of details! So many thanks to them, and to my
clients friends who push me to dream a little more than I think I can.
So go on, go check out Love and Lavender and their beautiful blog! And my feature! (!!)
