Some girls have planned their dream wedding by the time they’re ten years old. With their hair still in pigtails and a fresh mouthful of braces they dream of ceremonies on the beach, or oversized, poofy, princess ball gowns, or plan their first dance to the tune of This I Promise You by N*SYNC with twirls and romantic dips at the perfect places, all with some mystery man they probably won’t meet for fifteen more years. But while these details are what makes wedding days so special—and part of the reason I love my job of photographing them so much—a wedding should be about so much more than cake, centerpieces, and color palettes, and Brooke knew it.
Which is why two years before she ever began planning her very own wedding, she made a promise to herself that the next time she said the words, “I love you” to any man other than her father, it would be while standing in front of her husband on her wedding day. And there, with a curtain of rain clouds held back just long enough, the wind blowing through her veil, the slight hint of orange in the fall trees around her, and her brand new husband standing beside her, Brooke knew that she what she was living her real-life fairytale wedding.
The rain rolled in just as the ceremony was complete but the gloom in the sky only served to highlight the joy on Brooke and Tim’s faces. They were married, and no rain clouds, cold temperatures, skewed plans or Eagles/Steelers game results could take the smiles off of their faces. So Brooke and Tim, congratulations. It was my honor to be there to capture the very beginning of your story as husband and wife. Here’s hoping chapter two in St. Maarten is just a tad bit warmer!
Introducing: Mr. and Mrs. Sanville
These shoes… so perfect. Many thanks to Woodrings for Brooke’s gorgeous bouquet! Brooke, my dear, you are such a gorgeous bride. Lookin GOOD, men. Don’t let them fool you though, they’re pretty crazy. There it is! Not sure how you get so many beautiful women in one bridal party! Those shoes!! Tim’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time… Married!!! It got a little chilly, so the groomsmen lent an extra layer to the girls. What gents. It got a bit rainy after the ceremony ended, but thankfully we found this great alcove with just enough light bouncing around to get creative with some portraits! Such a favorite… Loved the dramatic hydrangea centerpieces! And I’ll leave you with this sweet moment from the first dance…
