The closer the minute hand clicked toward our scheduled time, the darker the sky became and the steadier the ran fell. As a portrait photographer who shoots in mostly natural light situations, sometimes I feel like Mother Nature and I are constantly at odds. There is always a way to make light and locations work, no matter the weather, but who really wants to spend their engagement session running in and out of the rain? Sure, we may all pretend that we look like The Notebook’s rain-drenched versions of Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling whenever we get caught in a downpour walking back to our car from the grocery store, but let’s all just agree to never again share the truth of those mid-rain moments: we all look like wet cats.
At any rate, what I never want is for the engagement photography experience of my clients to be marred by the weather. Especially not for one of the absolute sweetest pairs around. Christen and Luke truly are the epitome of sweet and kind, and just in the few hours that we spent together for their session, it’s easy to see how these two just work together. Throw in a mutual love of engineering, trains and ballroom dance (they’ve got some serious skills!), and everything about these two will leave you smiling.
So, where is the perfect engagement session location for a train-loving couple in central Pennsylvania? Bellefonte’s Talleyrand Park and historical train station, of course. Enjoy a few of my favorites from Christen and Luke!
Really, you two!!
A sneak peek at their ballroom dance skills! Can’t wait to capture more of this at their reception :)
Hands down favorite.
