She bought the dress months before Andrew officially asked her to marry him. And now here Keri was, finally standing in it on the day that she could wear it for more than just a few minutes at a fitting. From the corner Keri’s mom took in the sight of her daughter as a bride and quiet tears of joy filled with memories rolled down her cheek. And, hidden behind my camera, my eyes welled up, too.
Maybe it was because Keri and Andrew’s wedding day was the second in a whirlwind doubleheader weekend that started outside of Philadelphia, PA and ended outside Buffalo, NY in less than 48-hours. Maybe it was the way Keri and Andrew’s closest family and friends welcomed me and Alison (my amazing second shooter for the weekend, without whom the entire trip would have been impossible! ) so readily into the celebration of such an important day, like old friends. Maybe it was simply exhaustion finding a way to show its face. But I’d choose to believe that the reason I found myself having to wipe away my own tears of joy throughout the day was because of the authenticity of Keri and Andrew’s love and the absolutely genuine joy that radiated from each of them all day long.
So yes, the dress was ToDieFor and the details were so well executed (matching glitter shoes AND mason jars!?), but even if there had been no one to help decorate the reception manor or if the glitter flats didn’t sparkle quite like they were supposed to, I’ve no doubt that this adorable couple still would have floated on air all day long knowing that the details never mattered as long as at the end of the day, they could call each other husband and wife.
Introducing: Mr. and Mrs. Chaves.
I told you the dress was ToDieFor!! Keri and her aunt DIY’d all of the bridemaids’ bouquets and they looked AMAZING! The Shoes I Could Have Photographed Forever.
Can every church basement be a library? I was loving it!
The bridemaids’ first look.
And the moment that sparked a day full of happy tears.
Loved the purple and orange color palette!
The world’s sweetest flower girl! KERI!! Go ahead, girl! You are SO classically gorgeous!
Told ya you were looking suave, boys. Thank you Alison for this shot on the left. I love that look!
We stopped at a nearby park for portraits and were so blessed that the thunderstorms called for all day were no where in sight!
When this is the very first shot of portrait time, you know you’re in for a good day!
Love, love. Props to Alison for this shot on the left! A fave!
Seriously, you two, with all the adorability!
How much to you love the glitter mason jars? I may need to schedule some craft time!
Keri”s sweet dance with her dad…
…takes an unexpected twist!
I don’t think Andrew stopped dancing all night long!
Keri didn’t take many breaks, either!
So many thank you’s are due to Keri and Andrew’s awesome vendors!
