Jeff and Miki met one summer while they both served as counselors at a camp. Though there wasn’t much time for mingling as they both had campers to look after, Jeff made sure that when they did have time together, they made the most of it. But when camp ended, Jeff returned to school at JMU and Miki headed back for a final semester at Houghton College in New York. But when the seasons changed and cool air and bright leaves took the place of hot nights and the summer breeze, Jeff and Miki’s long conversations at camp morphed into long-distance phone calls and texts. Through months of phone calls and trips back and forth between Virginia and New York, Miki knew that her heart belonged in Virginia with Jeff, and so after graduation, she packed up and moved her things just across the street from the home of the boy she loved. And in just one month, miles and distance will be a thing of the past for these two adorable lovebirds, as they finally say I Do and tie the knot!!
I met Miki and Jeff for coffee one evening last February, and it took all of about five minutes before I knew that working with this amazing couple was going to be a blast. Of course, we’d met to talk wedding photography and details and packages, but we spent most of our time discovering our multiple small world connections, chatting about their amazing engagement story and discussing Miki’s deep love for all things penguin! I had a feeling that they would be SO much fun together, and after their engagement session this past Sunday, I think my intuition was definitely right! It was not an easy task picking my favorites to share with you today, but I hope you enjoy some shots from their Old Town Manassas and Manassas Battlefield session in the most gorgeous golden summer light! Keep an eye on the blog for more of these two… less than a month until they are Mr and Mrs!
When THIS is one of the first 20 images you shoot, you know it’s gonna be a great day!
These two have such great style.
A little frame fun!
Work. It. Y’all.
So impressed by BOTH of your model faces! Can we get you two a contract?
Such a favorite! GORGEOUS, Miki!
Canvas material, perhaps? ;) Love this one on the right!! Just gorgeous, you two.
And then we broke out the balloons. I LOVE me some props! I may have just been squealing with joy while these shots happened: Glowy light, balloons, and an amazing couple? I’ll call that a great day.
