I’ve heard that the strongest friendships are built on a firm foundation of shared experiences, common interests and mutual ideals. In my personal experience though, I’ve found that all you really need is a shared love of Mexican food. That’s why I was so excited when Alex first emailed me telling me all about the incredible wedding she was planning with the love of her life, Ben. These two just recently moved down to Memphis, Tennessee for Alex’s dream job as a Child Life Specialist, but would be back in Northern Virginia for a week and would love to meet up and talk photography—over Mexican food! I knew we were destined to be good friends from that moment on :)
So with a mug full of coffee and a plate full of one of the most delicious breakfast burritos I’ve ever had, Alex and Ben told me all about their wedding plans at Vienna’s gorgeous Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and the personal connection they shared with the garden—a bench on the lake is dedicated to Alex’s uncle, and a gorgeous wooden gazebo overlooking the same lake is dedicated to her grandfather. It is so special that the place where these two will say “I Do” holds such important meaning to their family! Alex and Ben decided that they’d also love to have their engagement photos here, just incase the Virginia heat is in full effect next July and prevents us from taking full advantage of the garden’s beauty for wedding portraits!
I’m so glad that we were able to make this session happened before these two adorable love birds flew back to their new Memphis home. Alex and Ben are two of the sweetest people around, and I’m so excited to be showing off their love on the blog today! I hope you enjoy and get SO excited for their patriotic July 5th wedding next summer! I already can’t wait!
You guys! The cutest!!
We started the day out at the gorgeous gazebo dedicated to Alex’s grandfather. It was designed by Steve Jobs! How cool?
Meadowlark is still FULL of beautiful colors! Even on an overcast morning!
Love love love this!
Ben!! You’ve got that look DOWN!
Absolutely stunning, Alex. You are gorgeous.
