In the weeks leading up to last Saturday, I emailed with Christen over final timelines, details, and otherwise general excitement for her wedding day. She responded to one of those emails with a sweet sentiment sharing how excited she was for their day to almost be there and to see me, too, “Though, I apologize,” she wrote, “getting to see you will likely not be the top thing on my mind.” I laughed and told her that if I was who she was most excited to see on her wedding day, we had some bigger problems!
But on the day of the beautiful State College wedding, I assure you, the anticipation built up in the room as the girls put the finishing touches on their hair and Christen slipped into her dress was for no one but the boy who patiently waited on the other side of the church, counting down the days, hours, minutes, seconds until his bride was finally his.
Though it was certainly a cold one (a high of 36 degrees all day!) Christen and Luke’s day was marvelous. From the incredible handmade details to Christen’s immaculate dress to the fleet of paper airplanes that greeted the new Mr. and Mrs. as they excited the church, the entire day was a just so perfectly them. Luke, Christen, you two have sometime so ridiculously special, and it was such an honor to be a part of your day and to witness and capture your one-of-a-kind love. Enjoy a few favorites from the start of your new chapter!
Introducing: Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm
Christen and Luke handmade all of their origami details including a bouquet for each girl. Christen’s mom helped to hand paint each one. They were beautiful!
Gah! Christen’s dress!
Not only did Christen get married in the same church as her parents, she also wore her mom’s veil! I love that sentiment.
Dad’s first look…
A paper airplane shower!
It was COLD. Really cold. But Christen, Luke and their entire bridal party were great troopers for photos at Bellefonte’s Talleyrand Park!
Love all this joy…
Oh, goodness, you two! You are so lovely!
Christen! Those eyes!
Christen and Luke held a brunch reception, so I loved all of the vintage breakfast details!
Yes, that is a cake Machete and yes, that is Iron Man in a wedding dress!
A hot debate topic for these two has always been who is the better super-hero: Iron Man or Batman? I think they just make a pretty great pair together ;)
