Oh, Easter decorations everywhere, it’s not me, it’s you.
Your pastel color schemes and your cute rabbits and your baskets, they’ll always have a special place in my heart, but they’re just not cutting it for me. After a winter like the one we just had (and/or the one that many of you are still having! Ugh!), I need a little more color in my life. Something bright! Something fun! And really, what do rabbits have to do with the resurrection of Jesus, anyway? I can dig the egg metaphor, eggs can stay. But rabbits? Especially those creepy Easter bunnies you see at the mall. What IS that? Oh man, don’t even get me started.
So this year I decided to fill my home with a little color and a whole lot of DIY love. I might have two dozen blown eggs in the freezer right now and my roommates may have been a little concerned when they walked in the kitchen to find two hundred dyed coffee filters just hanging out, but it was worth it. To make sure the bold colors didn’t feel too summer-y, I wanted to throw in some watercolor touches with the eggs and the filter garlands, and I am a little bit in love with how it all came together. And the egg crate succulent garden? It’s my new favorite thing ever. I love it so much, I think I want to marry it.
Need some last-minute Easter decor for your own home? Grab some inspiration! I did all this in one day! (One day!)
Seriously… in LOVE!
A fun story about this wreath… I really wanted to use kumquats in this spread. In fact, the tiny citrus kind of inspired the whole deal. But to my dismay, Whole Food let me down in the kumquat department. Fortunately for us, these crazy orange tomatoes I found look just like em!
The obligatory (and highly addictive) Cadbury mini eggs… 100% good indeed.
When in doubt… make it ombre!
