The first time I met Dave and Loretta was at a fantastic coffee shop right down from their DC neighborhood. They apologized if they were a little late (they weren’t!), as they had just dropped off their dog at doggy day care, and that’s when I knew we’d get along just fine. I love getting to connect with my couples over shared favorite things! Loretta and Dave are obvious dog lovers (check!), their favorite Mexican restaurant has margaritas on tap (double check!), and come November, they’ll be getting married at the gorgeous Airlie Center in Warrenton, Virginia, where I worked on the marketing team for a year and a half! I couldn’t wait to start planning for their engagement session.
So on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, we met at Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park. Honestly, the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful! Dave and Loretta live just up the hill from Rock Creek, and run, bike and take their beautiful Australian cattle dog, Foster, on walks together through the park on a regular basis, so it just made sense to use it for their shoot. As we wandered all around the Mill and down a few paths with bikers and runners zooming past us, I got to soak in the sweetness of Loretta and Dave’s love. These two couldn’t be much more adorable if they tried! Even just as we walked around the park, it was so evident that Dave takes such good care of Loretta, and that she can make him smile like no one else. Add in the energetic and lovable Foster, and you’ve got yourself one cute little family.
Just incase you wondered where the park got it’s name… the rocks and the creeks…
A moment of love for these outfits! Especially Loretta’s sparkly shoes!
A little puppy love…
LOVE THIS! You two are so darn good looking!
…and then I died and when to ring heaven.
The sweetest looks…
