Confession: it has been almost three months since I’ve moved into my new place, and if you were to come over to visit, I’d likely be a bit of a bad hostess. I’d show you around upstairs and give you a tour of my room, but I probably wouldn’t let you in the basement. In fact I’d probably shut the basement door, throw a padlock on it and tell you that it’s where we keep our stowaways. You would look at me like a crazy person, and you’d probably be right.
The truth is that I’m just a little embarrassed by the state of my office in the basement which, even after three months, consists only of a computer sitting on top of a desk sitting on top of a rug. It’s not exactly cozy. It’s also not exactly an inspiring place to be each day. Without any storage cabinets, most of my things are in piles on the floor—neither pretty nor good for organization. So finally, I took to Pinterest to gather inspiration and get an idea of what I’d really like to transform this space into, and I’m pretty excited about it!
In a hodgepodge of DIY projects, old furniture and new pieces, I’m hoping to create a space that I love coming to work in every day. I love so much of what’s going on in the world of decorating right now, but anything “Boho” or Mid-century Modern gets me every. single. time. And a good kilim rug? Be still my carpet-loving, heart. I spend a lot of hours at this desk, so why no be inspired by the thinks I have around me? Here’s a preview of my vision!:
Now that spring is here, what big house projects will you be working on?
