Happies & Crappies | Threading & Thrones

You’ve seen it before. You’re walking through the mall and you see a big sign outside one of the stores in the sketchy corner section: “Eyebrow Threading.” Well I have no idea what that means, you think, but it sounds terrible. You are correct.

Maybe this is over share, but it’s my blog and I’ll write about eyebrow threading if I want to! Apparently I am a glutton for pain, because this week I decided it was time to check out this whole eyebrow threading fad for the first time. If you’re not familiar, threading is an alternative to waxing or plucking eyebrows to shape ’em up. You can google it to get the details of how it works, but I’m pretty sure there is some kind of magical thread involved, otherwise it just doesn’t make sense! I sat down in the chair and leaned back, taking the first few rips of eyebrow hair like a champ. Totally fine. I’m definitely not a huge wuss. But then… but then my eyes started involuntarily watering like they do will you pull tiny hairs away from super-sensitive areas of your skin, and about 30 seconds in, I’m pretty sure I was just full-blown crying. Not really. (But kind of really). At any rate, I determined that if I ever come to a place in my life where I am being tortured for information, it will probably take me all of 10 seconds to share everything I know. Sorry, America!

I figured I’d spare you a photo of my eyebrows, so enjoy Lauren’s beautiful bouquet one more time! :)

– My eyebrows have never looked better.

– I’ve recently discovered that I may have a bit of an addictive personality, and it is at its best when I feed it with a good TV show binge. Recently, it’s been Game of Thrones fanning the flames, but two weeks ago I finally caught up to the current season. Now I have to watch the show live and can’t just hop over to the next episode?? Oh, the torture!! The good news for my Stark-loving soul is that I now have five books I can binge on read to satisfy my Game of Thrones addiction! BONUS SUPER HAPPY: I’m traveling to Ireland in August and September, and I absolutely plan on hitting up as many Game of Thrones filming locations as possible while in Northern Ireland. Win win win!

– This weekend I get to return to one of my favorite venues, Airlie in Warrenton, VA! Airlie also where I worked for a year and a half before I was able be full time in wedding photography, and I can’t wait to celebrate with Tim and Lindsay at such a gorgeous place!

– Realizing that I would make an awful spy due to my poor tolerance for torture. Seriously, all secret agents should have to go through eyebrow threading to determine how tough they really are.

Happy weekend, everyone!!
