Life has this way of surprising you when you least expect it, like being thrown a curveball when you thought you were playing tennis all along. It’s wild and magical and head-shakingly wonderful, and it’s exactly what happened when Hillary walked into a party at Old Dominion University more than 6 years ago. How could she have known that on this particular night she’d meet the man who she couldn’t imagine living life without? How could Chris have known that he’d find the girl of his dreams for the first time that evening?
Maybe they couldn’t have known at that first party, but seeing them six years later, at a party all their own, it was obvious to everyone present how much these two belong together. Hillary tapped Chris on the shoulder as he turned to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day, and Chris’ face absolutely lit up with love. After six years, there is no doubt that the love between these two is effortless and comfortable, which makes my job of capturing that love a joy and a breeze! And even after seeing each other for their first look, the tears of joy that welled up as Hillary walked toward Chris on her dad’s arm had me tearing up behind the camera, too!
Hillary and Chris, thank you for letting me be there to capture your effortless love and beautiful day! It was my honor to be a part, and I can’t wait to share my favorite moments with you! So, without further ado…
Introducing: Mr. and Mrs. Haynes
I still just love Hillary and Chris’ gorgeous rings.
I’m a happy photog when the bouquets are around for detail photos! Yay!
I get to see a lot of “bride” shirts each weekend, and I looooved Hillary’s to the max!
Hillary wore her grandmother’s garter. How’s that for something borrowed!?
“Something old, something new, something borrowed something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe…”
Gah, Hillary you are a breathtaking bride!
Waiting to see his bride for their first look :)
Love love love!!
The wind picked up at the perfect time and took this photo from pretty to a five star favorite!
Gosh, you two are good looking!
Give me a big old field and a couple in love any day.
Hillary’s nephew nails the groomsman model look on the first try :)
Maybe one of the most beautiful bridal parties ever?!
Always dig some crazy socks!
Love this shot from my second shooter, Hannah! Just before walking down to her groom!
So much love for this image.
After cocktail hour, we snuck Hillary and Chris away for a few sunset photos, and Sunset Crest Manor lived up to its name!
The color of the light was unREAL! And this on the right is an all time favorite!
Congratulations Hillary and Chris!!
