The first time Laura and Cole met, they were attending an HR meeting.
You know the ones. New hires have to attend and they give you the rundown of the company structure, how to set up your direct deposit, and probably say a little something discouraging office romances. Laura and Cole maybe chose to ignore that last part ;)
But it’s true: L+C first met when they both began working for the same company, and what started as a little office flirting soon turned into a full-fledged romance. And lucky for HR, it’s one that was so obviously meant to be.
I first met Laura and Cole during another engagement session entirely! They had come to help as “dog sitters” during their friends’ engagement session, and even just in the few minutes that we got to chat, I was so impressed by their sweetness and willingness to serve. So when it came time for Cole to give Laura a ring of her own, and she contacted me about their photography, I was MORE than thrilled to be a part of their wedding day!
I’d been wanting to shoot at River Farm in Alexandria for months, but the timing never quiet worked out until Daylight Savings finally ended—precisely when Laura and Cole wanted to schedule their engagement session! Hallelujah! The historic farm offers scenic views of the Potomac River, gorgeous fluffy grass meadows, and a beautiful southern house complete with formal gardens. Yes, yes and yes. Everything about this location fit Laura and Cole so perfectly, especially considering that they are planning their wedding in St. Simon’s Island in Georgia! Talk about some southern appeal! I can’t wait for their sweet celebration, though I’ll have to hold my horses since we’re still over 11 months away! In the mean time, I’ll continue to look back on this engagement session and get excited for the next time I’ll get to have these two in front of my camera again. :) Enjoy my favorites from their session! (One of my last of the season!)
Could you two be any more natural at this? You’re gorgeous!
Once again, the fall color made the perfect backdrop for this cozy, classic shoot.
Adorable AND fierce?! You two are incredible!
And let’s talk about this ring for a minute, yes?? Beautiful!
I didn’t know I could love grass so much until we walked up this path. So soft and pretty!
Get it, y’all!
A little outfit change. Laura and Cole, you two couldn’t be classier!
River Farm is full of beautiful little nooks, including this secret garden-esque space!
What’s more southern than a big ol’ porch?
