Do you ever get that gut feeling? That one when you’re about to take a risk that could change everything—that you’re fairly certain will change everything?
That was the feeling surging through Caitlin’s veins three years ago after she found herself on Daniel’s Facebook page. They had a handful of mutual friends and she’d seen him out before, though they’d never officially met. There was just something about him that she couldn’t quite put her finger on and she had to know more. So, adrenaline rushing, she sent him a message saying, “Hey there.” And man, oh, man, did those two words change everything.
Fast forward three years and some change, and that gut feeling—the one that feels like butterflies flapping their wings in an attempt to turn all of the adrenaline in your body into their own personal whirlpool—was back. As Caitlin sat in the bridal room at Kelly’s Ford Inn, just miles from the home that she and Daniel have created together with their two pups over the past few years, she smiled and bounced her knee and spun her engagement ring round and round her finger as her hair and makeup was perfected. Daniel, with a little less primping to sit through, burnt his energy off with his groomsmen, playing frisbee in the field where he’d be celebrating with his guests just a few hours later.
And then, finally, the moment arrived. Caitlin walked towards Daniel on her father’s arm, happy tears in her eyes and a huge smile on her face, ready to once again said two words that would change everything. Caitlin and Daniel, I couldn’t be more honored to have been a part of your picture-perfect day. The love that went into your first day as husband and wife—from the perfect planning and incredible decorations that filled Kelly’s Ford, to the way that you, Daniel, couldn’t keep your eyes off of Caitlin all day long—is the kind of love that makes my job so worthwhile. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us!
