Post-grad life can be weird. You’re all of a sudden supposed to have figured out what it means to be an adult (though, I’m convinced that no one ACTUALLY knows what that means until you get to at least 80—we’re all just faking it ’til then), and the path is no longer laid out for you in conveniently ordered steps. Sometimes new grads are looking at their dream job in a new place, sometimes it means seemingly endless months of job-searching, sometimes it means multiple more years of schooling. Whatever it means, it’s never easy to take on alone.
For Lyndsey and Dan, post-grad life meant a few more years of learning in a college town. Both transplants to the Charlottesville area for their time at UVA—Lyndsey earning her masters in Education and Dan attending medical school—they met and immediately knew that they had found someone with whom they wanted to navigate the wild waters of real life, even well after they figure out how to be real adults.
After meeting Lyndsey and Dan over drinks, I was so excited to get the chance to photograph their engagement session at the place where they first fell in love—the University of Virginia! Though I’ve passed by countless times in my 25 years as a Virginia resident, I’d somehow never had the chance to visit UVA’s campus and man oh man was it a treat. The entire campus is a picturesque photographer’s playground, and since Lyndsey and Dan planned their session for after graduation, we had the entire place to ourselves! And from minute 1, these two made my job a breeze. You don’t need to be near these two for more than a moment to know that they adore each other, and dang it is that love so evident in their photos! I’m so excited to share just a few of my favorites from their session with y’all! Enjoy!
