I first met Josh at a wedding, of all places. It makes perfect sense, really, seeing how he’s an incredibly talented wedding videographer himself. I had the good fortune of working with him first the first time at the beautiful wedding Day of Kristin and Dave, and then AGAIN on Molly and Daniel‘s gorgeous day. Our teams got along really well and I was excited to leave both days knowing I’d made an awesome friend in the industry who really works hard for his clients.
What I didn’t know was that I hadn’t just met an excellent videographer friend, I’d also just met a future client! Josh excitedly told me about his fiancee Brandi and his own wedding plans while we worked together, but never in a million years did I think that I’d get to be the one to document it. So when I got a call from him asking if I was available for his date, I was beyond floored. Quite frankly, the idea that any couple trusts me—ME!—to be the one to capture the momentous occasion of their wedding day continues to floor me week after week, but throw into the mix the fact that Josh is a creative in the wedding industry himself and I can hardly conceal my disbelief. It’s beyond an honor—and more than a little nerve wracking!—to have someone hire you after they’ve worked alongside you!
But lucky for me, Brandi and Josh are two of the greatest. These two met just three years ago while working on the set for a TV show. (!) Josh spent his time on set trying to attract the attention of that incredibly cute actress, and Brandi found herself developing a huge crush on that camera guy who kept pulling goofy stunts to catch her eye. But clearly, the goofy stunts worked their magic, and now these two are planning their wedding in the beautiful woods of Tennessee for next July! When Josh described his and Brandi’s dream engagement shoot, I got a little bold and suggested that we meet in Shenandoah National Park to hike down to a waterfall… A waterfall I’d never actually seen in person. It could’ve been a bust, but Brandi and Josh were immediately on board, willing to take creative risks AND put in some serious hiking work to make this dream shoot a reality. And, maybe I’m biased but I’d definitely say it was a success! Here are just a few of my favorites from that magical afternoon. Brandi and Josh, thanks for being an absolute dream couple to work with, for hiking up steep inclines, dancing in chilly water and looking like serious babes all the while ;)
