After more than eight years, the day was finally here.
Sometimes those eight years seemed long—like they purposefully dragged on to tease Amanda into having to wait for the day she’d been looking forward to all her life. Sometimes those eight years seemed impossibly short, like it was just yesterday that Andrew met Amanda during their freshman year at Longwood University and became inseparable almost immediately. Sometimes those eight years just seemed a blur, and while they are so important to their love story, they paled in comparison to the excitement of the future ahead: together, hand in hand forever as husband and wife.
And that is exactly the excitement that I had the honor of walking into on Amanda and Andrew’s wedding day. Though she was calm and cool, a literal sparkle filled Amanda’s eyes each time she though about seeing Andrew for the first time on their wedding day. And Andrew, aka the world’s sweetest groom, was so enamored with his bride that tears filled his eyes more than a few times throughout the day. From the very first time we met, Amanda had told me her plans for an enchanted woodland fairytale wedding, and a fairytale is exactly what her wedding day turned out to be. From the magnificent florals filled with plenty of playful color to the adorable woodland critters that filled the reception, to the most perfect golden hour evening light, everything about this day was straight from a storybook! And it was my absolute honor to get to be a part.
