Seeing that it’s November, you should all be riding the autumn train by this point, but if you’ve somehow missed the boarding call don’t worry, I’ve got the remedy: Claire and Jimmy’s beautiful Taproot Estate engagement session.
I attended the same high school as the lovely Claire, though we were a few years apart. I actually got the chance to get to know her and her sweet family a little better when I had the honor of photographing her older sister Courtney’s wedding a few years ago and all of my suspicions were confirmed: joy, kindness, and thoughtfulness runs right through the veins of the Morrison family!
So when I got an email from Claire letting me know that her boyfriend, Jimmy, had recently become her fiancé, I couldn’t have been more thrilled for her. We met over a cup of coffee and excited talked about the sweet surprise proposal that took place at Claire and Jimmy’s alma mater, Marymound and about their plans for a sweet July wedding celebration. When we decided to wait until fall for a dash of color in their engagement photos and I wished that time would fly so that I’d have the chance to get to know these two a little better!
And fly it did. Before I knew it, October had rolled around and I was driving out to join Claire and Jimmy at the incredibly beautiful Taproot Estate outside of Middleburg, where they had spent a few weekends on retreat together in their college ministry. We strolled around the gorgeous property, reminiscing on their college days and chatting about future plans, and I couldn’t help but have some serious love bursts of these two. Everything about them drips sweetness like a ripe, juicy pomegranate. The way Claire is so at ease in Jimmy’s arms; the way Jimmy looks at Claire when she doesn’t notice. It was such a joy to capture their love on camera and I’m so excited to share the beauty of their session with you all!
