It was one of the first truly crisp and cool days of fall, but despite the slight drop in temperature, the day couldn’t have been more beautiful as I walked up to Arlington’s Le Meridien hotel. I walked into the bridal suite and after being greeted with one of Meghan’s sweet hugs, felt like I’d arrived at to the pre-wedding of an old friend, which is undoubtedly the best feeling in the world as a photographer! I couldn’t have been more excited for this day to finally arrive, not just because of the great weather, the beautiful venue, or the love I have for these two (though certainly none of that hurt!), mostly I’ve been anticipating this wedding day because of the sweet, real love that M+D so obviously share.
In Meghan’s own words, “It felt like something serious from almost the very beginning, but you will hardly ever see David and I being serious.” I love this fact about them, and it was so very obvious during their entire wedding day how much these two just love living life together. Their love is fun, quirky, adorable and admirable. But most of all it’s palpable. You could feel it in the air all day long, even through the pre-ceremony nerves and the build up of excitement that comes just before you walk out to see your almost-husband for your first look. You could feel it as they took the dance floor for the first time as husband and wife and proceeded to dance the night away together. Meghan and David, it was such a joy to play a small role in your day and I just hope that these images capture every bit of emotion that you felt that day!
